Liu Yuanyuan – Unveil the Mystery Why Keats Teachers are so Excellent

In order to maintain the teaching quality at an top level, Keats School keeps trying to make efforts to refine our teaching management and research system. One of our missions at Keats school is to help every teacher to become a better and top rated teacher. During the professional training at Keats, teachers will learn how to teach Chinese in various ways but help the students learn the most in the shortest possible time. Today we are glad to have an interview with one of Keats teachers to learn her story at Keats School.

Keats: Can you please give us a brief introduction about yourself?

Liu: My name is Liu Yuanyuan. I graduated from Yunnan Dali College in 2011, major in teaching Chinese as a second language. I have been working at Keats since then.

Keats: Can you please share your story at Keats?

Liu: My teaching ability has improved a lot since I joined Keats. I have taught hundreds of students who came to learn Chinese in China in the past and their levels are different from beginner to advanced level. I appreciate that Keats offers me many helps in my teaching. Each teacher gets assigned with an experienced advisor. I can obtain support from my advisor almost every day. She explains the teaching key points to me patiently and designs the class and exercise together with me. So I don’t have to worry that there will be a problem when I am teaching. Keats School organized many teaching research activities for teachers which offer a good chance for every teacher to share with each other and make improvements together. Once when I was stuck in a hard grammar point, my advisor listened to my question carefully and arranged a teaching meeting for me. After reading other teachers’ daily preparation materials and talked with experienced teachers, I learned many new methods and my problem was solved in a very short time. I was so happy about that. And I finally found out why all Keats teachers are so excellent and can improve their teaching ability so fast. So now I also love to share my experience with other teachers.

Keats: How do you feel about Keats School?

Liu: I really love Keats school! I cannot work in such a happy mode in other schools. The environment here is relaxed and enjoyable. Everyone enjoys everyday teaching and enjoys to spend time with teachers and students. We all like a big family. We help each other and we laugh together. It’s a really nice feeling! On the other hand, Keats offers a wonderful stage for us. We can express ourselves in the most appropriate way. With the help from the whole Keats team, we can teach Chinese in efficient ways. It is also like a gift for us every time we witness the progress made by our students.

I am Liu Yuanyuan and I am looking forward to being your Chinese teacher at Keats!

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

I’ve been at Keats school and Kunming now for one month doing the one-on-one Chinese lessons with two different teachers. I really enjoy it. Both of my teachers are very friendly and patient. They really helped me to improve my Chinese, both of my reading and speaking. I really enjoy studying Chinese in Kunming as well. This city is really beautiful and the weather is nice, the air is clean. It’s one of the best cities in China to study Chinese.

I think Kunming is a great city, the weather is really good. I really like Keats school and found it is very organized. The teachers here are very good. They have a coffee shop and new classrooms, a new lounge area here now, so you can chill out with your friends and practice your spoken Chinese with natives. If you’re considering coming to Keats to study, I would really recommend it. It’s the best place to learn Mandarin and I think it will be a great experience for you.

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

I took the one-on-one Intensive Chinese class for 6 hours a day. The classes are very interesting. The teachers are caring and the content the teacher teaches me is suitable for my level. It is an easy way to learn Mandarin. I have a lot of time practicing Chinese in class. The food is great here. I have improved my Chinese through this program at Keats.

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

The best part of the school is the patience the instructors had and the time to focus on the fundamentals like pronunciation. I think it is very easy to skip over those and go to vocabulary. But by learning the pronunciation, I feel like it helped me gain a better understanding of the language.

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

So during my first week at Keats, I didn’t dare to speak any Chinese words. I found out that my Chinese level quickly improved since then. Although I have many options to study in China, for example, some other schools have homestay, I found I could immerse myself and fully focus on learning Chinese by staying at Keats.
