- You can choose to study for 4 hours per day (20 hours/week) or 6 hours per day (30 hours/week).
- We use unique teaching methods developed by Keats. Your teacher(s) will prepare the lessons according to your level of Chinese and your learning goals, to make sure that you learn the most Chinese in the shortest possible time.

You will be paired with a local Chinese who can speak standard Mandarin. Keats has strict criteria for selecting Chinese people with standard accents to join the Friends Program. You and your language partners are encouraged to take part in all activities at Keats.

If you want to do an internship while you learn Mandarin in China and put what you have learned in the Chinese language course into practical use, we have positions such as assistant project manager available. What's the difference between the Intensive One-on-one Chinese Classes and the HSK Test Preparation Course?
The HSK Test Preparation Course is also one-on-one based, but it uses the HSK standard course as the textbook. It follows the HSK curriculum to help you understand where you are according to the HSK evaluating system. If you are not aiming to pass the test, you can also choose this program if you prefer to follow the HSK system. It is a comprehensive program comprising speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
The Intensive One-on-one Chinese classes are more customized. We use a wide range of textbooks for this program, and your teacher will select the most suitable textbook for your learning goals and expectations. You can also have your own focus, such as speaking and listening. If you prefer to use your own textbook, that is also possible for the Intensive one-on-one Chinese course. The content for the Intensive one-on-one Chinese course is more catered to your needs. For example, you can take this program to facilitate your university Chinese course, to use Chinese at work better, to be able to travel alone in China, to expand your personal hobbies, etc.
How long does it take to pass each HSK level if I choose the HSK Test Preparation Course?
If you are a complete beginner, it takes around:
3 – 4 weeks to pass the HSK 1
7 – 8 weeks to pass the HSK2
10 – 12 weeks to pass the HSK 3
14 – 16 weeks to pass the HSK 4
40 – 52 weeks to pass the HSK 5
1 – 1.5 years to pass the HSK 6
If you have already studied some Chinese and have a foundation, the time to pass each level would be less.
Please note that this is an estimated learning path. Each student’s learning time might be different due to personal experiences. But don’t worry. Keats has taught a significant number of international students and has helped them successfully pass the test.
WHAT'S THE CHECK-IN DATE AND CHECK-OUT DATE?
Your accommodation at Keats starts on Sunday. You can arrive on a Sunday and start your lessons on Monday. The check-out date is Saturday after you finish your lessons on Friday. If it is hard to find the best flight to arrive on Sunday or to leave on Saturday and you need to arrive one day earlier or leave one day later, that’s also possible. The extra cost for accommodation at the Kunming campus is RMB 200/night. For other locations, please contact us for a quote.
