After having intensive one-on-one Chinese classes, you may want to put yourself into a natural environment to relax both your body and mind. Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is located in the tropical forest of Menglun Town, Mengla County, Xishuangbanna. The local people prefer to brief it as Menglun Botanical Garden. The park is divided into two parts: the east zone and the west zone. The main attraction is the west zone, composed of several small botanical gardens; the east zone is a long and narrow tropical rainforest suitable for hiking.

Do you like walking in a park, especially after several hours of a Chinese language course at Keats School? Then you can go to visit the Manting Imperial Garden.

The Manting Imperial Garden is the oldest park in Xishuangbanna. It has a history of more than 1,300 years. It used to be the royal garden of the Dai Royal Family of Xishuangbanna. In the history of the Dai group, it was a place for feudal lords and chieftains to relax and appreciate gardening views. In the garden, there are not only natural landscapes but also exotic flowers and garden architecture. Guests in the park can enjoy the quaint natural scenery and appreciate the cultural landscape with distinctive ethnic characteristics.

The inhabitants of Xishuangbanna are mainly Dai people, and Dai-flavored cuisine enjoys a high reputation in Yunnan Province. The most representative of Dai cuisine is the Grilled Fish with Lemongrass.

This dish has two characteristics: the grill used to fix the fish is the local green bamboo slices.
