To the students in the small group classes, learning Chinese at Keats is not only an efficient way to improve Chinese quickly, but also a great way to socialize with other students. From not knowing each other to becoming friends only takes one semester’s time. Many students reserved precious memories after studying Mandarin at Keats.
Nick is a many-time returning student at Keats. He likes drinking beer a lot, so he came up with a fabulous idea, which was to make his own beer at home. Although known as a beer fan, Nick attracted much attention from Keats teachers and students about how good his beer could be. Today he brought the beer made by himself to the school to let others try. Nick added a special spice from India into his beer, which made the beer smelled very unusual. Even though this is his first time to make his own beer, Nick received lots of positive feedbacks from the teachers and the students. Some students suggested Nick sell his beer to the western restaurants. However, he said that making beer is only his personal interest and would not use it for profit. Nick told us that learning Chinese at Keats gives him great opportunities to learn about other countries’ tradition and customs.
What excited us most was that Nick now is preparing a kind of beer with coffee flavor. Nick would bring us some after 6 weeks and we are all very excited.
