Recently, more and more students found the dishes at Keats school were different from before. Actually, the new chef at Keats school has brought with her various styles in cooking.

Our new chef is called Aunty Zhao. Aunty Zhao is good at cooking Chuang food. Chuang food is one of the best cosines in China. Also the people in Yunnan cook Chuang food. Besides cooking Chuang food, Aunty Zhao is also good at cooking daily dishes. She understands the importance of healthy, as well as tasty, food-she never put MSG into her dishes.

Aunty Zhao learned to cook Chinese dishes from her Mother when she was young. Her Mother was the best chef in a traditional Kunming restaurant, called Minshen restaurant which opened in the 70’s, eventually closed in the 90’s.

Before Aunty Zhao came to Keats, she had her own restaurant for many years in Kunming. She made lots of friends, many of which were foreigner- because they not only appreciated her tasty dishes, but also her open-minded personality.

Since Aunty Zhao joined Keats, more kinds of dishes appear in the cafeteria. Keats school has received many good reviews from the students. It seems every student likes the food at Keats.

One thing I really liked was that I was able to work with my teacher to make an individual plan of study. Another really nice thing is that you live at the school, you feel completely safe. You always have a group of people who are willing to do things with you on the weekends or in the evenings. They are serving you all the 3 meals a day, the food was excellent.

I’ve been at Keats school and Kunming now for one month doing the one-on-one Chinese lessons with two different teachers. I really enjoy it. Both of my teachers are very friendly and patient. We use a lot of games to learn grammar and new words. We have really good teachers, really patient. She helps us a lot. Our class is really nice and we have people from all over the world, different countries. We often discuss topics in Chinese in our class. I live in the dorm of Keats. It is very convenient. I don’t have to spend time traveling. You can just focus on learning Chinese.

I really enjoy this place because we have private Mandarin lessons. I took the 6-hour program, 4 hours in the morning, 2 in the afternoon. Even though it is quite a lot, the teaching is complimentary. This is very helpful because I could review what I did before and learn new things. My 2 teachers are fantastic. We live in the school, so it is convenient. It is interesting to me to meet people from all over the world.

I can’t tell you how much I liked it. The thing I liked about the teachers and the teaching method is that there is so much flexibility. The other thing I liked about the teaching is the combination of classic textbook learning and going outside. I loved it! I like getting to know other students. Everybody shared the same goal and that’s making their Chinese better. Kunming is a big city, but it is very safe to live here. HSK Test Preparation Course

Last year I started studying Chinese at University. The reason that I came here is that currently, I’m preparing for the HSK 5 test. Also, I heard that this is one of the best schools to study Mandarin in China. After I came here I realized that Kunming is a pretty cool city to live in and with regards to the teachers’ teaching methods, I think they’re very professional. And I think the language environment is good so now I’m ready to take the HSK 5.

I have really enjoyed the Chinese course in China at Keats and meeting the teachers here and the students. We have a lot of fun in class. It is a really great school to learn with good teaching methods and a really good textbook, examples and games, and everything.
