How to Apply for a Student Visa? How to Change Your Visa?

As the visa policy changes in the recent years, many students have encountered trouble in getting a new visa or changing a visa. Some students who learn Chinese in China  in Kunming do not know how to apply and how to prepare their visa application materials. Some students who want to study Chinese after working in China for a few years do not know how to change their working visa into a student visa. Some students who miss the best time to change a visa have to leave China and re-enter with a new visa.

Now Keats School has prepared a complete visa guide for all current Keats students and prospective students.

Step 1: Registration at Keats School

Please note that the X1 student visa is only valid for 30 days after you arrive in China. You need to notify us within 30 days after you arrive in China, so that we can help you get a resident permit that allows you to complete your study in China.

  • What is a resident permit?

If a foreigner wants to live in China for working or studying for a long term, he/she can apply for a resident permit which is valid for a long time with multiple entries.

Reminders:

1.    Consult Us Before You Apply for a Visa

We are very happy to answers all of your questions about visa. Please contact us three months in advance before your visa expires, so that we will have enough time to help you plan your application schedule.

2.    Submit All Required Items in Time

We will handle the entire student visa application, so please feel relaxed. The student visa application process is much more complicated than you think, so please kindly give us sufficient time to prepare. We suggest: submit all required items at least 15 days before your visa expires, so that we can avoid many possible problems. A real example: a former student submitted the required items only one week before his visa expired. However, because the officer was out of town, he could not come back in time before the visa expired. This student finally had to go out of China and re-entered with a tourist visa. The whole process brought him a financial loss of more than RMB 3000.

If anything stated above is not clear or cannot answer your questions, please contact us and we will answer your questions personally.

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

I really enjoy this place because we have private Mandarin lessons. I took the 6-hour program, 4 hours in the morning, 2 in the afternoon. Even though it is quite a lot, the teaching is complimentary. This is very helpful because I could review what I did before and learn new things. My 2 teachers are fantastic. We live in the school, so it is convenient. It is interesting to me to meet people from all over the world.

It has been notable because I have met a lot of people who I met first time last year like me to come back to Keats this year. The teaching has been fantastic. The teachers carefully prepare each lesson. I think this one-on-one approach is really a great way to rapidly increase your level of Chinese and increase your confidence and fluency with the language.

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

I have been to Keats School to learn Chinese for 4 times now. The reason for coming back to this school is pretty much that the teachers I did work with were very good Chinese teachers. I make it a 5-year plan or even a 10-year plan to come back to this school.  All the teachers have methods of looking at what your skills are. They are aware of at what level you are. I think it is worth for everyone.

I really had a wonderful experience at the school. The teachers are very very friendly. In my class, we practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing. We play games and other fun activities. We have trips around town. The staff at Keats is phenomenal. My teacher is one of the best teachers I have ever had in my educational experience. She comes in with a smile every day.
