Kunming, “Spring City of China”, is famous for its beautiful weather, like spring all year round. Thus, you can see flowers everywhere in Kunming. Kunming local people know exactly when to appreciate the beauty of different kinds of flowers. During the summer, locals go to the Daguan Park to see the lotus; during the autumn, locals go to the same park to see chrysanthemum; during the winter, locals go to the Black Dragon Pool to see plum blossom; during the spring, locals go to the Golden Temple to appreciate the camellias. Keats teachers suggest Keats students to take the golden time now in Kunming to see the beautiful flowers in each park. Last week, Keats teacher took her student to the Yuantong Mountain to see the sakura and crabapple blossoms.
Isi is a returning student who comes to learn Chinese in China at Keats every summer. Now this is his fifth time in Kunming at Keats School. Luckily, now is March and is also a great time experience the sakura season in Yuantong Moutain. Therefore, Isi’s teacher arranged an outdoor lesson for Isi. Before the outdoor lesson, the teacher gave a brief introduction of the Yuantong Mountain, and also posted a few tasks for Isi to force him practice his Chinese while seeing the beautiful flowers. Although Isi is not an expert in photographing, he is very interested in taking photos and prepared a professional camera before he came to Kunming. Now the camera became very important for his trip to the Yuantong Moutain and helped him record to the beautiful moment. The teacher and the student were amazed by the sakura everywhere once they entered the park. Isi was trying to practice his Chinese with other Chinese people while appreciating the amazing scenery. Isi loves kids and always shows his friendliness to the Chinese kids and take pictures with them.
Isi enjoyed his experience at the Yuantong Moutain and recommended it to other students. Keats teachers arrange outdoor lessons every week or every two weeks to let the students put what they have learned in classroom into practical situations. If you are in Kunming now or plan to visit Kunming in spring, don’t forget to go to the Yuantong Mountain to celebrate the “Sakura Season”.
