TEACH ENGLISH & VOLUNTEER IN CHINA
This program is a perfect combination of Chinese language learning and volunteer opportunities in China. Teaching English means direct contact with local people and gaining a better understanding of Chinese culture.
Requirements to participate in the Chinese Language Course + Volunteer program:
- Native English speakers (If you are not a native English speaker, but speak very good English, it is also possible to take this program)
- Between 18 and 50 years old
- Passionate about teaching with experience in teaching
- Offer effective teaching to English learners for 4 hours per week
- Flexible in teaching based on the requirements
Chinese Colleagues
You will immerse yourself in the workplace with Chinese colleagues by doing volunteer work in Chengde. It will significantly boost your Chinese language acquisition. Daily interactions offer authentic practice in listening, speaking, and reading, accelerating fluency. Your Chinese colleagues can provide immediate feedback on pronunciation and grammar and introduce practical vocabulary beyond textbooks.
Your Chinese colleagues will also offer insights into workplace culture and etiquette, crucial for successful integration. This immersive experience accelerates your Chinese language journey and enriches your working experiences in China.

Keats Global Initiative for Languages
Keats School spends endless efforts to promote language and cultural exchange for people from all over the world. Keats Global Initiative for Languages serves as a bridge to link you and English learners to build a strong and lasting friendship. Through this project, you will be giving FREE English lessons to enthusiastic English learners to help them improve their English in all aspects as a volunteer at Keats English School. The English lessons will be arranged in the evening and during the weekend.

Group Chinese Class
You will take group Chinese classes for 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday. The classes are either in the morning or in the afternoon depending on your level.
SINGLE ROOM WITH PRIVATE/SHARED BATHROOM

Program Certificate

Your “Life Advisor” will be helping you with

VISA APPLICATION ASSISTANCE
Keats is a legally registered and licensed Chinese language school approved by the Chinese education department. Keats offers support for your student visa application. After you complete your registration at Keats, we will send you instructions on how to get your student visa with help from Keats. Keats can also provide dependent visas for your spouse and children. Please make sure that you choose a licensed school for your language course to ensure that your legal rights as a student are being protected.

It doesn’t matter what level of Chinese you have, or even you can start from the zero level. Your teacher will prepare the lessons according to your requirements. I have to say it’s tons of fun. I have been here for 2 weeks. Not knowing what it was gonna be like, I was more than surprised at how great it is. The teachers are great, they are understanding. They do a Chinese language program that suits just you. The location is perfect for learning Chinese in China.

The teachers carefully prepare each lesson. I’ve been at Keats school and Kunming now for one month doing the one-on-one Chinese lessons with two different teachers. I really enjoy it. Both of my teachers are very friendly and patient. They really helped me to improve my Chinese, both of my reading and speaking. I really enjoy studying Chinese in Kunming as well. This city is really beautiful and the weather is nice, the air is clean. It’s one of the best cities in China to study Chinese.
Kunming’s scenery is very beautiful. It is the best place to study Chinese in China. My favorite learning method at Keats School is one-on-one because it is suitable for everyone. My teacher is very good, very caring, and lovely. My life when learning Chinese in Kunming is very good and the weather is very good. The air is very good. It is good for the elderly’s body.
I think Keats is one of the best language schools I have ever been to. My teacher is such an amazing person. She is so good at teaching. She makes classes fun. I have learned a lot of vocabulary during my time here. I would really recommend coming to learn Mandarin Chinese at Keats School.
Kunming is a fantastic city. The weather here is great. The school is excellent. The instructors are very helpful, very friendly. I strongly recommend that anybody who is looking for a Chinese language school in China come here to study. Kunming and Keats school are much better than any other place.
At Keats, I have a lot of opportunities to practice what I have learned. I really like this school, because I can learn Chinese in one-on-one style, so I think this is the best immersion program in China and my teacher is the best teacher. The Chinese Language Course + Volunteer in China does not include meals. But there are many cheap food options close to the school.

Will I need to create lesson plans to teach the students or is this more of an assistive role?
We will offer training on what you need to do. You will need to follow our teaching plans, and we will guide you on what to do. Sometimes, you will be the leading role in class, while sometimes, you will be the assistive role with a Chinese teacher as a leading role.
