Sino-France Cultural Spring and French Films Screening Held in Beijing

In the afternoon of April 11th, the opening ceremony of the seventh Sino-France Cultural Spring and the ninth French Films Screening was held in Beijing. Many main leaders that some of the foreign students study in China may know participated in the opening ceremony such as Bai Lin, French ambassador to China, Xiang Xiaowei, the deputy director general of foreign cultural bureau of the Minister of Culture as well as the director Wang Xiaoshuai and Gu Changwei.

The ambassador Bai Lin gave a speech in the ceremony, in which she expressed that this Sino-France cultural activity that more than 20 cities were involved introduced the essence of French and Chinese cultural essence. In addition, the fifth films exhibition also gave people a new interpretation to the representatives of the first generation of French films. Of course, many cultural activities were held during this period and many excellent French movies were showed to Chinese people to know more about French culture.

According to the introduction of Xiang Xiaowei, this session of Sino-France Cultural Spring is a cultural event with 134 programs and 24 cities as participants. It was firstly held in 2009 with the joint efforts of France’s Ambassador to China and Beijing French Cultural Center, aiming at overall promoting the exchanges and interaction of Chinese and French culture with various forms of expressions such as visual arts and performing arts.

Being held jointly by French Films Alliance and France‘s Ambassador to China, the French Films Exhibition aims at disseminating and promoting excellent French movies cultural essence as well as the free and romantic France spirit.
