In recent days, more and more exhibitions are held for the purpose of promoting the cooperation with other foreign countries. On March 29th, the Heavenly Palace of the Earth—the Beijing Palace Museum Exhibition was held in Tokyo Fuji Art Museum located in Hachioji city. Some foreign learners who study in China were told that the exhibition opened to journalists and members of the arts community, attracting a large number of people to visit. Cheng Yonghua, the Chinese Ambassador to Japan went to the exhibition site to congratulate the holding of it.

As a matter of fact, this exhibition is held to commemorate the 40 anniversary of the normalization of Sino-Japanese relationship. Therefore, it won much support from the Ministry of Culture in China, China’s Embassy in Japan, Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture. The exhibition was composed of two parts, “Imperial concubines of the forbidden city” and “children in the Imperial Palace”. During this period, about 200 paintings, crafts, costumes and jewelry were exhibited, most of which are Chinese cultural heritage at the national level.

Among so many exhibits, the most precious one should be the female piety painting which was created by court painter in the Southern Song Dynasty. If you attend to Chinese school to study Mandarin, teachers would tell you that this drawing depicts nine scenes that the women in ancient China received the Confucianism education. It is said that this is the first time that this painting has been exhibited in overseas country.

Of course, there were also many other attracting exhibits such as the plum blossom drew by Chinese Empress Dowager Cixi of the Qing dynasty, the horse painted by Tongzhi Emperor and the peach offered as a birthday present by concubine Jin. In addition, the things attracted many people are the complete sets of luxury tableware used by empress and imperial concubines during the meal, the children’s toys in imperial palace and the Queen’s wedding dress.

Just as those students who learn Chinese online free all know, the Tokyo Fuji Art Museum is a comprehensive art museum established in 1983 by Daisaku Ikeda, the president of Soka Gakkai International. In total, there are more than 30,000 pieces of art works, covering the painting, photograph, sculpture, ceramic and lacquer ware and so on. The holding of this exhibition will definitely helpful to promote the Chinese culture to Japanese people.
