On the day of June 18th, the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation was held in Beijing city. One day later, the guests from the cultural delegation from the African countries paid visit to the Palace Museum, the National Museum and the National Grand Theater with the company of Yu Peng, the deputy director general of the foreign affairs bureau of the Ministry of Culture. When welcoming the honored guests from the Africa, the executive vice president of the Palace Museum Li Ji introduced that 14 million tourists from all over the world were received in the last year.

The minister of the Ministry of Culture and Art from Congo ever visited China in 2000 and 2004. And this is the third time that he has paid a visit to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. He said that he can feel the change of this place each time he goes and that kind of feeling of freshness never disappear. The year of 2012 is the 100th anniversary of the National Museum. The curator Lu Zhangshen said that the arts in Africa are very characteristic and have great influence to the arts in the world. Picasso and Matisse were ever affected by the African arts. More than 4000 pieces of African carving art works collected in the National Museum was in exhibition. However, the National Museum is still lack of many arts works in African countries. Therefore, he hoped the National Museum can cooperate with each museum in Africa to enrich the collections in the National Museum.

When visiting the African carving works collected in the National Museum, the chief from Zambia said that he had the feeling of being at home when entering there. Those carving arts works come from different African countries and have different styles but has strong African amorous feelings. If the students have visited the National Museum when they study in intensive Mandarin course in China, they might have known some basic conditions of it like the large scale and the perfect functions and facilities.

Therefore, there are many famous artists and art troupes from all over the world perform in the museum every year. At present, the National Museum has established the cooperation relationships with more than 100 international famous artistic institutions, including those in the African countries.
