Western Zhou Dynasty in Chinese History

Many foreign students know that the time period of Western Zhou Dynasty was about from 11 century B.C. to year 221 B.C. After the King Wu of Zhou conquered Shang Dynasty, he established the dynasty of Western Zhou and set the capital in Haojing which was located in south part in Xi’an city of Shanxi Province in modern China. The Western Zhou Dynasty was conquered by the first emperor of Qin Dynasty. Zhou was a vassal state of Shang Dynasty which ranged from 17 century B.C to 11 century B.C. The legend said that Zhou was the descendant of Emperor Ku and the state was the most powerful during King Wen of Zhou and King Wu of Zhou. In the war in Muye, the Shang Dynasty was conquered and the Zhou Dynasty was founded. In the modern times, the time period was called the Western Zhou Dynasty.
