Lucky Knot

Lucky knot is a favorite auspicious sign in China. According to Buddhist explanation, the lucky knot means “with winding encirclement, everything is clear”. This has already denoted the meaning that everything goes well and all roads are unblocked. The pattern of the lucky knot is various geometric figures are formed by well-regulated lines of silk ribbon. Under its peaceful appearance, it connotes movements as well as sobriety (connotes much happiness). Simple in line but profound in meaning, it looks balanced but not stiff. It is used as a symbol of continuity which denotes ceaseless generations of offspring and continuity of luck, fortune and love. It is usually used as decoration of clothes and buildings. It is one of the Eight Treasures in China.
