Ancient Chinese called the pine trees, the bamboo and the plum flowers the “three friends in winter”. As we know, pine trees are evergreen, cold-resistant and lives a long life. It is a symbol of longevity and firmness. Bamboo is tall and erect, delicate and simple and evergreen in all the four seasons. It is called a “gentleman”. Also people thought that bamboo is a kind of plant that shows safety. For plum flowers, it blossoms in the winter.
