The fifth Manas international culture and tourism festival opened up in Xinjiang. The festival was also a chance to present the fourth international tourism photography festival. The event was held in Akto County in Pamir Mountain, Xinjiang. There were many activities of the festival and the contents of the activities differed from one another. The most attractive play was the performance of the three national epics of China at the same time on the same stage, which made the Subashi Prairie Square under the Muztagh Ata a beautiful and impressive landscape which drew much attention from thousands of people.
Many performances which were possessed with national characteristics were presented on the opening ceremony. The first group competition of photography whose theme was Olympics went on fiercely. Many photographers presented their photos to others to view and learned from others. The first film which reflected the time to support Xinjiang and establish the strong nationality characteristics was starting a press. The unveiling ceremony of the Manas Statue which appealed the heroes to return and the representation of the colorful folk customs was held in the folk customs culture and tourism village. Many visitors were appreciating the nationality characteristics which reflected the Xinjiang ethnic features. For those who wanted to view the borderland view and appreciate the Chinese culture in China, Xinjiang would be worth going.
The tourism festival centered on the theme of Magnificent Mountains and Holy Water in Pamir, Miraculous and Grand Aktau. The festival got support from relevant agencies from the China Folk Artist Association, Institute of Ethnic Minorities of Chinese Academy of Social Science, the Ministry of Culture of Chinese Art Research Institute, Chinese Photographers Magazine, Chinese Artistic Photography Association, Xinjiang Folk Art Association, Inner Mongolia Epic Research Association, Xinjiang Wild Horse Corporation and the Beijing Zhongkun Tourism Investment Corporation.
Jin Pingyu, Secretary of the Aktau County introduced that the activities of the festival were to discover the local cultural connotation, improve the cultural levels of the locality and lead the cultural taste. That the co-performance on thee same stage of the three epics was a great event signified the rapid development of the Chinese ethnic culture. He said Xinjiang people welcomed all visitors. No matter you were Chinese or overseas visitors who wanted to learn Mandarin in China and appreciate the Chinese culture.
