Being jointly hosted by the Parliament of the United Kingdom and Sanmenxia Municipal Government of Henan Province as well as undertaken by Mianchi County Government and the United Kingdom Chinese Cultural Association, the China Yangshao Cultural Exchange Exhibition was held in the Palace of Westminster London Parliament House on the day of June 21st. Many relevant and important leaders attended to the exhibition such as the Member of Parliament of the lower house and the presidents of the top 500 enterprises in Britain as well as the reporters from both countries.

In the state banquet hall in the resplendent and magnificent Palace of Westminster, the Yangshao culture colored pottery works of primitive simplicity and elegance are combined together with the world famous paintings hanging on the wall, forming a harmonious blending scene of the rich and colorful Chinese and western cultures. At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, the deputy mayor of Sanmenxia city in Henan province introduced the cultural resources of Yangshao Cultural Exhibition and the resources in Sanmenxia as well as the economic development situations. He said that it was the first time that Sanmenxia city had held the Yangshao Cultural Exhibition in London in the history of Sanmenxia cultural exchange. With long history and profound cultural connotation, Sanmenxia city is one of the most important birth places of Huaxia civilization.

Exhibiting the fine art works in ancient times in this place is the specific expression of Sanmenxia people‘s hospitality and generosity. The deputy mayor Xue Menglin also expressed his hope that this exhibition will have positive effect to the further exchange and cooperation between Sanmenxia and the United Kingdom in the fields of culture and economy. Ms. Sharon also addressed the welcoming speech at the opening ceremony, expresdsing her honor to invite the honored guests from Sanmenxia.
