The primitive Great Wall of China could trace back to the Warring State Period according to the record of Chinese culture. On the other hand, crossing a long distance from north to the east, it ended in the east in Liao Dong. Of course, it is the world-renowned Great Wall of China which stretched for more than 5000 kilometers. And this is the reason why it is call “万里长城” by Chinese people and the foreign people who study Chinese in China. Besides, the area within the Great Wall has been considered as the certain domain of ancient China.

The Great Wall was built up in Qin Empire, mostly constructed with earth or stone piling up. The whole project of Great Wall was composed of four parts: Guan Ai, Cheng Qiang, Cheng Tai, and Feng Sui as well. With the help of soldiers led by Meng Tian and the prisoners, the Qin Great Wall had been finished successfully. Majority of students who learn Chinese in China show that it is a huge task to construct the Great Wall, under the simple tools and inconvenient traffic.

The Great Wall not only had accounted efficiently to keep the northern intruders, the nomads, away from getting in at that time, but also worked in quite long period of time later. Besides, it played active role to protect the people from central plains living in a peace society. Furthermore, it had been an important matter to improve the social and economic development in the central plains, as well.
