EASY AND FUN CHINESE LESSONS
The Chinese Language Program for Children combines Chinese language lessons, Chinese culture classes, and excursions, to help young students have a better understanding of the language and culture. Our teachers who run the children’s classes are all experienced in teaching children and employ varied and engaging teaching methods, which make Chinese learning easy and fun. This is an ideal summer camp program in China for the children to improve their Chinese language skills in a way that they like.
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES & EXCURSIONS
Children will take Mandarin Chinese classes in the morning and visit interesting places in the afternoon on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, Chinese cultural activities can be chosen from Chinese chess, Chinese paper-cutting, Chinese facial mask painting, making Chinese dumplings, Chinese songs, Chinese calligraphy, five in a row, making shadow puppets, pottery, visiting the market to get materials for making rice noodles and making rice noodles, etc. Children will be able to use and practice the Chinese they learned in the morning during afternoon activities. Three meals a day will be provided by the Keats cafeteria. Parents are very welcome to come with their children and participate in all afternoon activities. Each summer, Keats welcomes many children from all over the world and some of them even come back to study every summer. This is an ideal choice for a summer camp in China.

FUN CHINESE CLASSES
- The Mandarin teachers for the children’s programs are all experienced in teaching children and employ varied and engaging teaching methods, which make Chinese learning easy and fun.
- Daily Chinese classes include all kinds of games that would inspire your children to speak Chinese, use Chinese, and love Chinese.
Full Immersion
- Your children will have Chinese classes in the morning for 4 hours/day. Each class has 1 to 4 children with lots of games and practices.
- It is a full Chinese immersion summer camp program because the teachers will use the most possible Chinese in the classroom to create a Chinese language environment for your children.
Family Camp
PARENTS PARTICIPATE IN ALL ACTIVITIES
- Parents are very welcome to come with your children and participate in ALL afternoon activities and weekend activities.
- Three meals a day will be provided by the Keats cafeteria.

In the afternoon, parents are welcome to participate in all the Chinese cultural activities:

I took the one-on-one Intensive Chinese class for 6 hours a day. The classes are very interesting. The teachers are caring and the content the teacher teaches me is suitable for my level. It is an easy way to learn Mandarin. I have a lot of time practicing Chinese in class. The food is great here. I have improved my Chinese through this program at Keats.
About studying Chinese here, I think the living condition is very convenient because the dorm is very close to the classroom. Our teachers really enjoy teaching Chinese. They are also very passionate. Compared with other cities in China, Kunming has really good weather.

I am a graduate student working on my doctorate degree at Columbia University. We were able to really focus on speaking especially interview-style speaking and we are able to really up my Chinese reading and writing skills, so when I go back to Columbia, I can take formal Chinese classes. It has been a really good experience and I really love my teacher.
The best part of the school is the patience the instructors had and the time to focus on the fundamentals like pronunciation. I think it is very easy to skip over those and go to vocabulary. But by learning the pronunciation, I feel like it helped me gain a better understanding of the language.
So during my first week at Keats, I didn’t dare to speak any Chinese words. I found out that my Chinese level quickly improved since then. Although I have many options to study in China, for example, some other schools have homestay, I found I could immerse myself and fully focus on learning Chinese by staying at Keats.
I’ve had an amazing time at Keats. I am amazed at how much I’ve learned over the last 3 weeks and I will be really sad to go. We are already planning on our next trip of coming back because we had such a fantastic time here. They really tailor the Chinese language course to you and your individual needs.

Can parents come with their children?
Yes, absolutely. Parents can take part in all afternoon activities and Saturday activities. Children will take Chinese language classes in the morning and have fun activities in the afternoon and on Saturdays.

The Children’s summer camps in China are designed for children 6 to 12 years old.
Can parents take Chinese lessons as well?
