“Yi Gen Mian” and Natural Scenery in Wei Shan

However, the most delicious and famous snacks in Wei Shan is Yi Gen Mian (which means there is only one line of noodle in the bowl). Many years ago, local people in Wei Shan made “Yi Gen Mian” for festivals and birthdays of the older people in the family. The reason why they make it into just only one line of noodle is that local people agree if they eat it, their life will be as smooth as this one line of noodle. Preparing process of “Yi Gen Mian” makes the people who see it keep astonished, include those travel to Wei Shan after learning Chinese language in China.

In March 2011, “Da Li & Wei Shan Foods Festival” was hold to show some local dishes of Wei Shan people. “Yi Gen Mian” was the focus of the festival. A cook from Su Lao San Noodles Restaurant made a line of noodle for about 1704 meters, and many people at the festival had tasted the noodle and said it was delicious. If you come to learn Chinese in Yunnan, you can go to Wei Shan and try the famous “Yi Gen Mian”.
