In the Chinese language, “xingfu” is written as “幸福xìng fú” which means “happy or happiness”, especially the happy feelings about family, love and friendship. “lu路(lù)” means “road or street”. In China, almost in every city, you can find a road named “xingfu”. So there are hundreds of Xingfu Roads in China.

This is quite common, the name itself contains people’s wish for happiness and a happy life. So that is why it is so commonly used. Also, “xingfu lu” can refer to the way lead to happiness or happy life. It is hard to find the real “xingfu lu” for different people. So some young Chinese people may often say, “I have been walking on the xingfu road for a very long time, but I still can’t find my own ‘xingfu’ ”.
