The big show of national dance party Wind of Colorful Guizhou was performed in State of Florida in the United States. More than one thousand audience including natives and overseas Chinese had appreciated the performance. Wind of Colorful Guizhou was just like a poem of large scale of dance and songs. It presented the colorful ethnic culture to make the public draw attention to Guizhou Province. What’s more important was that it made the people in Guizhou understand their hometown better and taught the people to love their hometown in a proper way. The show was created in Guiyang on January 22nd, 2006 and consisted of 22 dances and songs in all, reflecting the cultural life and harmonious life in Guizhou. One aim of the show was to make the visitors at home and abroad take a quick view at the colorful ethnic culture of Guizhou.
The show began with the performance of the dance and song show of Colorful Guizhou. The song of toast revealed the hospitality of the Miao people to the distant guests. The performers also presented wine to the audience at present. The dance made the audience feel the manliness of the males of Miao nationality. Other dances presented the gentility of the females of Miao nationality. The different kinds of dances by different ethnic nationalities brought the show to the climax. The foreigners who had been in Chinese language school said the performance gave full play of the ethnic culture of different minorities groups in Guizhou to them.
The mayor of Miramar City was present at the show as well. She expressed the welcome to the performers and the visitors. They were grateful that the performers brought the wonderful landscape to the local citizens. She thought that the show was a chance for the Chinese and American to understand each other and strengthen the cultural communication between the two countries. She said more and more Americans came to China to study Chinese and the country witnessed more Chinese coming to America every year.
It was the third time that the show came to America on tour around the world. The Wind of Colorful Guizhou was hosted by the United Association of Chinese Students Scholars and Alumni in Miami.
