And the site of the Yunnan Army Academy has been protected well until now. What’s more, it has been listed as the national key cultural relic protection units in 1988. Yunnan Army Academy is located on the Cheng Huapu which is the center of the Kunming City and beside the west bank of the Green Lake. Now it is protected the same as before. Yunnan Army Academy is constructed with the cream-colored bricks and wood. And it is a two-story building constructed as traditional quadrangles.
This kind of tradition construction has attracted many students study in China. Four buildings in the north, west, south and east consist of the whole construction. And these four buildings are bridged by the passages. The whole construction covers a vast area of about 1390 square kilometers. The main buildings in the west and south are equipped with an assembly hall and arsenal. In the central section of the south building, there is building only for military review which is 15 meters in the height and 13 meters in the width. In front of the building, there use to be a vast play ground which is as large as two football ground. However, it has been replaced by the tall buildings such as Yunnan science and technology museum. On the other hand, the traditional quadrangles built on 100 years ago still stand there and four Zhuan Jiao Lou which are 120 meters in the length and 10 meters in width around it. This makes the building antique and more beautiful. Besides, the building looks grander.
During study abroad in China, it is great to learn more about local places of interests, such as Yunnan Army Academy. The famous Yunnan Army Academy opened in 1909. It has been regarded as three great Army Academies, the Beiyang Army Academy (Tian Jing) opened in 1906 and the northeast Army Academy (Feng Tian) founded in 1908 included. On the other hand, Yunnan Army Academy has a glorious history in modern history of China. Thus it has been reputed as “the crucible of the revolutions” by Zhu De.

The students had to follow the strict discipline. They had class for 6 hours a day but 2 hours for excises. In the morning, the students did excises and kept running every day. However, they have to attend the evening class. What’s more, they may receive the emergence training in the midnight. On this account, those students graduated from the Yunnan Army Academy would be more excellent than any other academies. After realizing this, these foreign students believe they have made a good choice to study abroad in China.
Due to these typical features, Yunnan Army Academy has been a famous academy to cultivate the excellent revolutionary fighters. At the same time, it has made a great contribution to the democratic revolution in China.
