Qingshui Lake in Xundian of Yunnan

Located in Xundian County of Kunming city, Qingshui Lake is about 14 kilometers in the west of Rende Township. When you come to study in China, you will be told it is famous for the crystal clear water even in the rainy days. In ancient time, there were families with the surname of Che around it. It got the name Che Lake. Some of the foreigners who study in China may also hear that Chinese people call it Western Lake because it is in the west of Xundian County. It is recorded that the reason of the formation is the earthquake 230 years ago.

Qingshui Lake is a faulted plateau Karst lake with a whole catchment area of 33.4 square kilometers. The deepest point of the lake is 32.8 meters. When learning Chinese in China, you may hear that the main lake water supply is from the rain and the underground. The water flows out from the north lakeshore to the northeastern. With a shape of ellipse, foreigners who study in China can see it has a length of five kilometers from south to north and 1.6 kilometers from east to west. And the water capacity is about 118 million cubic meters.
