The so-called Puppet Manchukuo Palace Museum is the palace relic site museum built on the former site of the Puppet Manchukuo Palace. Located in North Guangfu Road in the city of Changchun, the Puppet Manchukuo Palace Museum was established in the year of 1962. It was opened to the public to receive the tourists in 1984. The former name of the museum was Jilin Provincial Puppet Manchukuo Palace Museum. When it came to the year of 2000, it was managed by Changchun Municipal Government and the name we use now was officially changed on February 18th in 2001.
At the moment, the protection are of the Puppet Manchukuo Palace Museum is 137 thousand square meters, among which 47 thousand square meters are the exhibition area. The total staffs involved are 161 persons and there are about twenty thousand pieces of collections in this museum. However, the outside part and the inner part have been developed into the Puppet Manchukuo Palace Display Hall and Puppet Manchukuo Palace Supreme Display Hall respectively. The outside palace mainly functions as the place for Fuyi to deal with the political affairs and it is composed of Qinmin Pavilion, Jiale Hall and Huaiyuan Pavilion.
