Fenghua Xikou scenic spot consists of two main tourism spots which include the Xikou District and Tengtou District. There are respective advantages of the two tourism spots. In order to promote the quality of the scenic spots and enlarge the influence of the scenic spots, Fenghua City combined the Xikou spot and Tengtou spot together in year 2007 and created a 5-A tourism spot in the country. The coverage of the two scenic spots is 140 square kilometers. There are 225 tourism resources items in the tourism districts. The items and the categories are rich and the landscape value of the scenic spot is high. In year 2009, Tengtou and Tengtou were the representative cities which were the only town in Asia and future pavilion in Shanghai Expo in which many foreign students had the chance to volunteer in China to do volunteering work.
Xikou scenic spot is located in the Ningbo city and is 20 kilometers away from the city. It is the first series of 4-A tourism spots approved by the nation. The scenic spot is surrounded by water and mountains and the landscape of the scenic spot is charming. Xuedou Mountain in Xikou district is made of three scenic spots of Xikou town, Xuedou Mountain and Tingxia Lake. It is famous for the temples, hometown for Jiang family and the waterfalls. It was named the wonderland in Han Dynasty and the Peach Garden by famous writer Tao Yuanming.
Xikou Town is the birthplace and hometown of Chiang Kai-shek. It is one of the main directing centers in the period of the Republic of China. Many foreign students in Chinese school in China know that Jiang was a famous leader of the Kuomintang. The leaders of the Xikou Town were famous for the great leaders. For the historical reasons, the town was presented before the eyes of the people.
Though a small town, Xikou was the main center of the politics of China. Chiang Kai-shek and Chiang Ching-kuo were both born there and they planned many historical events there. Chang Hsueh-liang was also in house confinement after the Xi’an Incident and he planted many trees there. The many different kinds of politics events added more historical tints to the scenic spot.
