Mount Pan is a national key scenic area in China which looks like a brocade screen expanding for ten Li. It stands majestically in the east of Beijing and the north of Tianjin which is about 12 kilometers in the northwest of Ji County. The scenery of Mount Pan is famous for five peaks eight stones as well as the attractive scene of San Pan Zhi Sheng. It closes to Jiuhua Peak in the east and connects with Wujian Peak in the west. All mountain peaks with strange stones gather together, forming the scene of San Pan Zhi Sheng, meaning the scenes of three stages. In the upper stage, it is as high as you can reach the sky as long as you stretch your hands. The middle part is characterized by the wonderful stones of various shapes. The lower stage is famous for the splashing water scenes.
In the past, there were totally 72 temples and 13 exquisite pagodas constructed in the mountains. Therefore, it was also famous because it is a mountain of Buddhism. The Mount Pan is steep and precipitous with elegant and beautiful mountain peaks. Seeing the far area, you can enjoy the cloud sea and the soughing of the wind in the pines. The near scene is the attractive stone and water scene. Mount Pan is the attraction with the combination of natural landscapes and historical sites as well as the combination of Buddhist temples and imperial gardens. Emperor Qianlong in Qing Dynasty ever travelled Mount Pan for 32 times. In the development and construction of couple of years, four main scenic areas and more than 30 scenic spots were restored. The cableway of 980 meters long was also added to perfect the service facilities.
