This game will be played to assist students to learn Mandarin by dividing the whole class into several groups. Each team sends two students as representatives to play the game. The teacher acts as the judge. When the game start, the teacher shows the written words to one student of group one. After five seconds, this student should give some hints to the teammates who are supposed to guess the words.
If the teammates can guess the words correctly according the hints in the limited tome, they will get eight points. If they can’t figure it out, it is the turn for group two to guess. If the second team can get the right answer, they will win seven points. If not, the third team takes the chance. For the purpose of stimulating students’ interest to learn Chinese in China, the game can’t be stopped until someone finds out the answer or the point is deducted to zero.
The reminder of each group can be repeated, but it should be within two syllables. What’s more, any words in the answer to the riddle are not allowed. In many Mandarin leaning courses, the one who violates the rule will be deducted one score and one chance of his team will be cancelled. It is helpful to learn Chinese by giving students certain pressure.
If the student just says one character of the word, one more chance can be given to guess further. Let’s take an example to show how it goes in Mandarin language course in China. If the answer to the riddle is “茶叶”, the team who guesses “咖啡” has no chance. But the team says “茶” will get another chance to step further.
More words should be given for students to guess. When game over, the team with the highest scores will win. For the answer to the riddle, the nouns or verbs have concrete meanings are better than that of the abstract ones. To teach Mandarin language effectively, teacher should write down the words that can’t be guessed correctly to explain and hint.

The remaining members move on the game like this: “你的书没有我的多”, “你的字没有我写得好”, etc.

This will encourage them to study Chinese more initiative. When beginning the second round, group B starts first. After processing two or four rounds, the group with the highest scores will win the game.
The members don’t have to say the truth about their goodness. The sentences are not allowed to say repeatedly, but it is acceptable when the sentence patterns are changed. For example, if the sentence “我比你高” has been said, the following can change it into “你没有我高” to gain points. This game often applied in Chinese language school to practice the comparative sentences.

By the same way, firstly divide the students into two groups, namely, A and B. Then, everyone says one sentence to make a story after viewing a picture or catching teacher’s sentence like “今天早上,我刚出门就碰见了……”.
