Jilin Beidahu Ski Resort is located in the Beidahu development zone in Jilin. The ski resort was founded in year 1993. The spot is located at east longitude of 126 degrees and north latitude of 43 degrees. The ski resort is 53 kilometers away from Jilin city center and 141 kilometers away from Changchun city. Beidahu Ski Resort has successfully held the snow games of the national 8th and 9th winter games. All the snow games of the 6th Asian Winter Games in year 2007 were held in the Beidahu Ski Resort.
Beidahu Ski Resort is possessed with the largest scale, the most advanced facilities and the most excellent natural resources. It is the most important snow sports training base and snow tourism center. Many foreign students like to go there for recreation when they learn Mandarin Chinese in China. It is the AAAA level tourism spot in China. The coverage of the ski resort is 17.5 square kilometers. There are nine mountains whose sea levels are over 1200 meters. The main mountain Nanlou Mountain is the highest peak in Jilin district whose sea level is 144.8 meters.
The Beidahu Ski Resort is surrounded by mountains on three sides. The wind is not strong in winter and the air temperature of resort is mild. The snow is thick and the quality of the snow in the resort is good. There are 11 high mountainous ski trails in the ski resort. The total length of the trails is 20 kilometers and the coverage of the ski trails is more than 70 hectares. The maximum gradient of the snow trails is 32 degrees while the minimum grade is 7 degrees. There are 7 ski lifts in the ski resort and one annular cross-country trail whose length is 10 kilometers. The modern shooting range covers an area of 7040 square meters. The advanced facilities make the foreign visitors who study Mandarin Chinese enjoy the joy of skiing.
At present, Beidahu Ski Resort receives 3000 tourists every day and the resort provides 600 tourists with accommodation service. With the development and progress of the ski resort, the resort is becoming more advanced.
