Implementation of Practice in Chinese

For Chinese language teachers, the practice seems to be ready-made because the Chinese teaching materials have provided the exercises. And the teachers can just ask the students to finish them. To a certain degree, teachers can just assign the practice to students to do at home and tell them the answers in class. However, as a matter of fact, it is that was as being said. On one hand, teachers need to choose the exercise for students according to the actual characteristics, the learning contents and the mastering conditions and even supplement some practice of pertinence.

On the other hand, teachers should play their subjective initiative fully and do some proper adjustment, changes and expansion to the exercise in methods and contents. For the adjustment, let’s take the replacement practice as an example. The common way is to ask the students to read after the books, which is really boring for learners. What’s worse, when reading, some students who learn Chinese may not so concentrating and do not understand it. In this case, teachers can do some adjustment like changing the practicing styles or adding some interesting elements.

In addition, the same exercise can be processed in various forms. You should consider it should be practices as classroom exercise or homework exercise, you can choose to practice in written form or oral form. Of course, you can decide to practice as an entity or dividing into groups. You can also choose to ask the students to do independently or find someone to demonstrate on the platform. After finishing the practice, teachers need to offer correct answers which can be various. And teachers can say answers directly and ask students to evaluate and even exchange to correct.

In accordance with the actual conditions of the students, some exercises are needed to be added in some cases. On the contrary, if the exercises are not proper, many be too difficult or easy, maybe lacking of enough time or some other reasons, the exercises should be deleted. Of course, much attention should be attached to the rhythm of practicing. It is important for every student who studies in summer program in China to hot chance to practice or answer questions. And the time of waiting for an answer should also be limited. If teachers lose patient, the initiative of the students will be hurt and it is not good to improve the language skill.
