Designing Mandarin Paragraph and Questions to Examine Students

To examine the proficiency of students in the contents they learnt in the last class efficiently and precisely, teachers of the qualified Mandarin program designed some subjects for students.

One useful subject is to answer questions after listening to stories. The specific way is that teacher can write a story according to the new words, grammar and text contents that students who learn Mandarin have learnt and set some questions which can be related to these words and grammar. Students are required to answer these questions set by the teacher after listening to the stories.

One model given by a teacher in the Chinese school in China is as following:
我是个音乐迷。光激光唱片就有好几百盘。我喜欢民歌,也喜欢流行歌曲。不过更喜欢民歌,因为我觉得流行歌曲的歌词不如民歌好。

Questions set by the teacher require students who learn Chinese in China to answer them with the words in brackets:
我是个_____? (迷)
我的唱片多吗?为什么?(光)
我喜欢什么?(流行)
为什么更喜欢民歌?(不如)

Another example is that after learning one text, the teacher picked the new words that students of learning Mandarin Chinese just learnt and designed the following subject:
中国的面积有九百六十万平方公里,中国的人口包括大陆、台湾、香港和澳门,一共有十二亿九千多万人。中国西藏的珠穆朗玛峰,有八千八百多米高,是世界上最高的山峰。中国第一大河是长江,有三百多公里长。它也是世界第三大河。黄河是中国第二大河,是中华民族的摇篮,中国人叫她“母亲河”。

These underlined words and grammar are all the contents the students who study Chinese just learnt in the last class.

The following questions designed by the teacher were required to be answered by students who learn to speak Chinese with the words in the brackets behind the questions.
中国的国土有多大呢?(面积)
中国的人口有多少?(包括)
请简单介绍一下珠穆朗玛峰。(山峰)
为什么中国人把黄河叫做“母亲河”?(摇篮)

Students should answer these questions after listening the stories read by their teacher.
For example, the teacher reads a short paragraph edited by her for students who learn Chinese in China:
学校西边儿有个公园,有山有水,风景很美。……我常去那儿逛逛、照照相、散散心。如果你要去,最好骑自行车去,因为这样你既可以看看风景,又可以锻炼身体。

In this paragraph, the teacher used the contents that students who learn Mandarin in China just learnt in last week and set some questions for them to answer.
西边儿的公园怎么样?(风景) The students who learn Chinese language in China used the word “风景” in the brackets to answer the question: 风景很美,有山有水。
“我”常去公园做什么?(散心)answer: 散散心
