Located in the middle part of Congshan Mountain in Anning which is about 40 kilometers away from the city of Kunming, Cao Xi Temple is a temple in the jungle enjoys a high reputation. The middle part of Congshan Mountain is covered by the dense forest and decorated with a variety of flowers. In the middle of cliffs, you can see the clear spring water and hear the beautiful songs of the birds, making it a very good natural place to spend your holiday.
So far, Cao Xi Temple has had a history of more than nine hundred years. That is the reason that many foreign students who learn Mandarin in the city of Kunming were attracted to visit there. The front of Cao Xi Temple is Tanglangchuan while the back of it is Congshan Mountain. Situated in the middle of the mountain, Cao Xi Temple is surrounded by Biji Peak, Longma Peak and Bijia Peak. About half a kilometer in the south of Cao Xi Temple, you can see a dragon pool of about six meters in diameters and two meters deep. The water is so clear that you can see the bottom clearly. When it comes to the morning, noon and evening, the water in the pool seems like boiling, thus being regarded as one of the eight top scenes in Anning. If you keep walking toward the south, you can see another pool called the Pearl Spring.
