Pingtan Island, which is the fifth largest island in China and the largest one in Fujian province, is also called Dong Lan, about 128 kilometers away from Fuzhou city. In the year of 1992, Pingtan was approved as the provincial level tourism economic development zone as well as the provincial level tourist atrtaction by Fujian Provincial Government. The coast of the whole island has numerous twists and turns, reaching the coastal line of 408 kilometers, among which 100 kilometers are the high quality sandy beach.

You can see a variety of marine abrasion cliffs, caves and platforms and terraced areas with various shapes such as double dragons holding the pearl and the dolphin plays with the water.
The scenic spot named Ban Yang Shi Fang is recognized as the top wonder in the world by the general tourists. In the place about 15 meters above the sea water surface is a natural freshwater lake named 36 Feet Lake with picturesque scenery in different poses and with different expressions. The giant stone person with strange pattern and vivid image is as large as four times of the Leshan Buddha statue. It is called the largest natural granite globular air-slake form in the world.
