You can choose to study Chinese in Miao Village for 4 hours per day (20 hours/week) or 6 hours per day (30 hours/week). If you want to study Mandarin in China, the intensive one-on-one Chinese course is the fastest way to improve your Chinese.

We use unique teaching methods developed by Keats. Your Chinese teacher(s) will prepare your lessons according to your level of Chinese and your learning goals to ensure that you learn the most Chinese in the shortest possible time.

Cuisine in Xijiang Miao Village - Sour Fish Soup (酸汤鱼)

This is the absolute signature dish of the Miao people. The unique, tangy “red sour soup” is made by fermenting rice and tomatoes for a long time, creating a vibrant and appetizing flavor. Fresh fish from local rivers is then cooked in this bubbling broth. The result is a delicious and refreshing soup that is both slightly spicy and wonderfully sour. Cuisine in Xijiang Miao Village - Sticky Rice Cakes (糍粑)

When you visit Xijiang Miao Village, you will see vendors selling Sticky Rice Cakes, or Cí Bā. They are a popular local snack made from pounded sticky rice. You will typically see them as soft, white rounds or already grilled. For the best experience, ask for a cake that is freshly grilled. The vendor will warm it over charcoal until the outside is crispy and the inside is soft and stretchy. You can then choose a topping: honey for sweetness, or a savory mix of peanut and soybean powder.
