The 9th Hong Kong Literature Festival opened up on June 28th. The theme of this festival centered on the connection with writing to create an opportunity through which the public could have different perspectives to know literature art and enjoy the charm of the literature works. The literature works would explore the mysterious beauty of the great works. For most of us, the literature works offered us the opportunity to meet a virtual world and discover the enchantment of the process through which we found connection between life and literature and the truth about the real life.
The literature festival was hosted by the Public Library of Hong Kong. The focus activity was the exhibition of the theme event of Connection with Writing. The exhibition was divided into five parts including Path of Life, Passion to the Earth, Nostalgia at Other Place, Perception of Life and Love to the End. Some of the visitors were those who were exchange students to study in China. They said the exhibition was a good chance to feel the history of Chinese literature works which helped them to taste the Chinese culture through the excellent creation of the works. And some were natives there and they thought the show gave them a chance to know much more about respective writers and their own writing styles, which would help them to cultivate their own taste.
The thread of the exhibition was the all kinds of emotions reflected in Hong Kong literature works to introduce the works of respective writers. The works on the exhibition included the Chinese Poem in Provence by Liang Bingjun, Bing Wang Shu by Pan Guoling and A Taste of the Hong Kong Literature. Those all aimed at making the readers to taste the process of human beings, namely childbirth, old age, sickness and funerals. The life process was described as well. The description of kinship, friendship and love impressed all the visitors there. Some said their life experience was just like the description in the works and they felt that how to study Chinese was another challenge as if the desire to create literary works was lighted after the exhibition. They said the great writer were all genius who knew how to use the proper words to create a work that could stimulate people.
It was reported that the literature festival would last till July 15th, during which over 30 kinds of activities would be displayed. Special section exhibitions, seminars and lectures would be presented at that time, which would certainly give a feast of literature to the visitors.
