Mojiang Hani Autonomous County is located between the northern latitude of 22.15 and 23.59 and between the eastern longitude of 101.07 and 102.04. Therefore, the county is crossed by the Tropic of Cancer line. After the approval of the central government, Yunnan provincial government decided to build a garden of Tropic of Cancer sign on Chengdeng of Mojiang County. Being constructed in the year of 1997, the park covers a total area of 1500 sqaure meters, combining astronomy, geography, plants and scientific knowledge as well as landscape art and tourism culture together.
The main axis is the place of Tropic of Cancer in the year of 2038, which is the northern latitude of 23.26. Along the section of 500 meters long in the Tropic of Cancer, the architectures named the Road of Sun, Kua Fu Zhui Ri, the Gate of Tropic of Cancer, the Sundial Square and Chun Xia Qiu Dong are constructed. On the basis of those architectures and the statues and main signs, the vivid and lively space series were created and expressed people’s understanding on nature, life and sunshine through the scientific museum.
