Ningxia Imperial Tombs of Xixia Dynasty

Xixia Dynasty was a feudal dynasty which was founded in the 11th century and the main body was the Dangxiang people and Qiang ethnic minority. In year 1038, the first emperor Li Yuanhao founded the Xixia Dynasty at Xingqing. In year 1277, Xixia Dynasty was exterminated by the Mongolia people. The duration of Xixia Dynasty was 190 years and there were ten emperors throughout the course of the history. The conquered areas reached to the Yellow River in the east, Yumen to the west, Xiaoguan in the south and the desert in the north. The coverage of the dynasty was more than thousands li. In its prime period, the reigning land areas were 830 thousand square meters including Ningxia, Gansu, western part of Inner Mongolia, northern part of Shaanxi province, eastern part of Qinghai province, eastern part of Sinkiang and southern part of the Republic of Mongolia.
