Jingdezhen Yaoli Scenic Spot

The Yaohe River is the place of origin of the Jingdezhen porcelain industry. The main raw materials of Jingdezhen porcelain are the kaoline and the kaoline is produced in the Gaoling Mountain near Yaoli. Beside the banks of the Yaohe River, there are many porcelain production sits such as the pits, kiln sites and workshops. Moreover, there are convenient transportation systems to support the porcelain production sites such as the water transport wharfs and ancient post roads. What’s more, the settlement systems are supported by the porcelain industry and its relevant trade such as the commercial wharfs, towns and villages. Yaoli瑶里 is called 窑里 in the past times. The foreign students who learn Mandarin in China must know that the pronunciation of the two words is same to each other.

After the modern times, Yaoli is forgotten by the people for it is far away from the modern transportation systems due to the place is located in the remote mountainous area. Because of this reason, the past splendid history is gradually forgotten by people. Fortunately, it is the isolation from the people that the scenic spot is preserved well. The natural sceneries and settlement features are well protected and they are of high appreciation values. The strange rocks, waterfalls, primitive forest, Jiangnan old temples, buildings in Qing Dynasty, the old sites of kiln and the former residence of the revolutionary soldiers make the visitors feel not like leaving. Those who are learning Mandarin Chinese in China and traveling around China all like to go here for recreation and relaxing.

The old building complex is of large scale. The commercial malls, ancestral halls and ancient houses which are preserved from Ming and Qing Dynasty are the main spots in the scenic spot. Among them, the Yibuling building complex is the most representative. Yaoli is the main production site of Jingdezhen porcelain and the distributing center for rice, wood, tea and tea oil of Anhui, Zhejiang and Jiangxi Province. It is also the ancient path from Jingdezhen to Zhejiang and Anhui.

In the scenic spot, there is a splendid waterfall. The waterfall is 30 meters wide and it falls from a cliff of 60 meter high. The waterfall hits the rocks and water splashes to different directions. Yoali is also a suitable place to avoid summer heat. The tea produced in the place is ranked top ten famous teas in China. People going there can have a try of the tea.
