The exhibition of terracotta soldiers and horses of the Qin Dynasty was held in Hong Kong. The exhibition was in large scale and the theme of the exhibition was unity of the world-the eternal kingdom of Qin Shi Huang who was the first emperor of Qin Dynasty. Many foreign students who took summer program in Chinaknew that Qin Shi Huang was a great emperor and conquered and united China. The exhibition presented 120 pieces of precious cultural relics in which 20 were different kinds of terracotta warriors. The exhibition applied new kinds of multi-media technology to present the magnificence of the terracotta warriors.
The exhibition was divided into cultural relic’s zone and multi-media experience zone. The exhibition coverage of the exhibition was more than 1850 square meters. In the cultural relic’s zone, the public could get to know the process of the establishment of the Qin Dynasty to the conquering of the six countries through different kinds of cultural relics, comments and videos. In the multi-media experience zone, the public could get to know deep into the history, culture, cultural relics and the stories of the terracotta warriors of the Qin Dynasty through six programs.
In order to hold the exhibition well, Hong Kong Museum of History held seminars, international seminars and lectures. There were 20 plural educational activities and four public art activities were held based on the theme of the terracotta warriors. The aim of the activity was to stimulate the creativity of the youth to encourage them to know more about history. Moreover, Hong Kong Museum of History specially invited the famous 3D stereoscopic painting artist Qi Xinghua to paint a stereoscopic painting to make the students experience the wonderful scenes of the terracotta warriors. Many foreign students liked to travel to the spot when they are learning Mandarin Chinese to experience the magnificence of the spot.
Linzheng Yue’e, Chief Secretary of Administration, expressed on the opening ceremony that the exhibition broke the number limits of the national cultural relics and the terracotta warriors. She expressed the idea that the holding of the exhibition was to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the return of Hong Kong to China. thus, the exhibition was meaningful.
