There are three forms of the lexicalization of the grammar teaching in Chinese language, the first one of which should be to simplify the grammar teaching system. After the lexicalization procedure of the grammar teaching, the burden of the grammar teaching will be greatly relieved so that the teaching grammar system will be more brief and simple. Teachers who teach Mandarin language should realize that they can’t judge whether the language phenomenon in the teaching materials is processed perfectly or not simply from the number of the grammar points.
On one hand, it is related to the importance of the grammar points and they can be valued in different degrees in various teaching materials. On the other hand, some teaching materials process the language phenomenon as the grammar points while some take it as the vocabulary aspect. For example, some people regard 好极了and 累死了as the complement of degree while some believe they belong to the modal complement. However, as a matter of fact, we can deal with it by not regarding it as the grammar points but listing them in the vocabulary area as …极了 and …死了.
Another form of the lexicalization in Chinese grammar teaching is the lexical phrase. Just as those foreign students who learn Chinese language know, there are some fixed structures in Chinese language with complex inner relation. For those structures, we can leave them alone temporarily and deal with them by treating them as the lexical phrases. Students may learn 你好on the first day of Chinese language learning or even have learned to say 你好before the formal learning. In this case, the learners treat it as a whole to understand and the grammar function is equal with hello in English. Teachers will never avoid teaching 你好because they haven’t taught the sentences with an adjective predicate.
The last but not least form is about the enlightenment of the teaching materials compiling. In the aspect of the teaching materials compiling, we can have a try in several points as follows. The common collocations can be listed on in the tablet on the basis of the words, pinyin, part of speech and translation. For those words that the students often make mistakes, they should be placed together with high frequency words. And the vocabulary learning column is essential to learn the words with several meanings.
