Ni Ru is a name a place that many people have never heard of. It is situated in the central region of the Three Parallel Rivers, the Hongshan Scenic Area of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Some of the foreign students who come to learn Mandarin Chinese are told that it is a mysterious place almost isolated with the outside world, a place with hundreds of square kilometers primitive forests, dangerous shoals, meadows and springs as well as some Tibetan villages hidden in the dense forests, living harmoniously with the primitive forests.

The specific location of Ni Ru is in Ni Ru Village of Luo Ji Town in the northeastern of Zhong Dian County which is called the mysterious field in Shangri-la of Yunnan province. It is about 75 kilometers away from the county seat. With the altitude of 2705 meters, it is surrounded by mountains in all directions. The annual average temperature is around 20 Celsius degrees. Since the rainy season lasts from June to October, the rainfall is about 5800 millimeters.

The surroundings of Ni Ru are the green mountains that are covered by the dense primitive forests. Due to the low altitude, all kinds of plants are prosperously covered. A series of white birch forest turns golden yellow when it comes to winter. The trees such as dragon spruce and fir are so strong and high that you can shelter from wind and rain. Of course, a variety of precious birds and rare beasts such as musk deer, bear and monkey are living in the forest.

The beautiful and primitive landscapes are not known by the people in the world until the Three Parallel Rivers was claimed as the world heritage. When learning Mandarin Chinese in Yunnan province, students may be told that various climate biocenosis of warm temperate zone, temperate zone, cold temperate zone and the Frigid Zone are preserved perfectly, being called one of the richest areas of the world biological diversity.

It is said that the Three Parallels Rivers is a historical teaching book of earth evolution. The collision between Indian Plate and Eurasian Plate formed the large mountains and rivers like Dandang Lika Mountain, Dulong River, Gaoligong Mountain, Nujiang River, Yunling Mountain and Jinsha River. In addition, there are also many spectacular snow mountains and glaciers as well as precipitous valleys, spacious highland meadows and crystal clear lake and picturesque karst landscapes, except for desert and ocean.
