Experience Chinese Medical Treatment

Isabelle, from Belgium, is now learning Chinese in China at Keats. She is taking the intensive Chinese language program with Tai Chi. A few days ago, Isabelle had a fantastic outdoor class with her teacher in a famous Traditional Chinese Hospital. Because of her work, her shoulder muscles were hard to relax and she was tortured by migraine. She heard about traditional Chinese medical treatment long time ago. She hoped could experience the authentic treatment in person in this trip to Kunming and it would help her get rid of the pain.

Isabelle’s teacher Lucy already made a reservation with the doctor before the lesson. When they arrived, they started the treatment immediately without lining in the queue. The doctor who graduated from the Traditional Chinese Medical University has been working at this clinic for 7 years. He checked Isabelle by using Chinese massage (manipulation). After checking, he diagnosed that her neck and shoulder were under a high pressure because of the long-term work and wrong posture. However, the doctor consoled her that her situation was not so serious and would be better after the treatment. The doctor was sure that Isabelle would feel much better after the treatment.

During the treatment, Isabelle saw the cupping therapy and she would like to have a try. The cupping therapy could remove the moisture from inside of the body to outside. One hour later, all treatments were finished. The doctor offered several suggestions for Isabelle to help her get rid of some bad habits. Isabelle said to the doctor that ‘I feel so comfortable and relaxed now! I’m so glad to experience the treatment today. I will definitely continue after returning to my country.’
