Status of the epidemic in China
With the border opening on Jan 8, many students signed up to study Chinese at Keats. We welcomed many students from different countries after the border opened. Life in China now is completely back to normal, and you will have no problem getting to all the places. No masks or vaccines are required.
All the students received their visas and entered China without any problems. Now you can fully enjoy your study and journey in China, just like what it was before COVID.
Keats’ Chinese language courses in the first half of 2023
As the largest Chinese language school in China, Keats has welcomed many students in the first half of 2023 who were eager to come to China to learn Chinese for a long time.
One of Keats’s most popular programs that people sign up for is our intensive one-on-one Chinese immersion program. Students can choose to study at the Kunming campus or do a combination of different locations. In addition to customized learning content based on your Chinese language level, we also have Chinese cultural classes for you to choose from. For example, if you are interested in Chinese calligraphy, we also have calligraphy classes; if you want to learn how to cook Chinese food, we have cooking classes. All of these courses are particularly popular in the first half of this year.
In addition, if you would like to travel after your Chinese language course, for example, to Dali or Lijiang, which are not far from Kunming, we also offer the Chinese language course + Tour program that includes Chinese lessons and travel packages. You can choose to study Chinese for a few weeks and then travel for 1 week or 2 weeks. This hassle-free program means you don’t have to worry about anything, such as hotel, car, guide, etc. Many students chose this program as well, and we had a chance to take them to Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-la, Jianshui, Puzhehei and Yuanyang to appreciate the beauty of nature.
If you are a parent with children, we also have a children’s Chinese program. The best part about this program is that parents can participate in all the activities. We have welcomed many such families in April and June this year.
Keats’ activities in the first half of 2023
During the first half year of 2023, Keats has organized many awesome events. Some regular activities like cultural class, language exchange with Chinese people, and excursions on Saturday and Sunday. A number of activities were held to enrich students’ learning experience and help them easily immerse into the Chinese environment. Below are some of those free events for you:
Chinese Cultural Classes
In 2023, we held Chinese cultural classes such as Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting, playing mahjong, tie-dye, making lanterns, making sugar-coated haws, making Yunnan’s local dessert, Chinese tea ceremony, etc.
Karaoke
Keats organized Karaoke for our students and we really had lots of fun. Singing in a KTV is a popular modern culture of social in China. Taking our students to experience this special culture brings lots of joy in their Mandarin learning journey.
Watch the Yunnan Traditional Opera
Yunnan Dian Theatre invited Keats students as special guests to watch the Yunnan traditional opera, which is an intangible cultural heritage. Students liked the opera performance very much. Seeing the performances in the theatre enriched the students’ learning experience in Chinese culture.
Excursions on Saturday
There are countless amazing places to visit in Kunming and we can’t wait to take our students to visit these places. Saturday is always the excursion day. Enjoy a day of travel after 1 week of intensive classes.
Special activity at the Dragon Boat Festival
On the 25th June, Keats held an exciting and successful event on the Dragon Boat Festival. The Festival is a traditional Chinese festival with many long-lasting customs and activities. In order to let our students experience the traditional Chinese festival culture and to enhance the communication between students and teachers, we organized this activity. The whole event was more like a party between our teachers and students. Teachers wore Han fu and taught everyone how to make zongzi, dumplings, and we all threw pots together, drew Beijing opera face paintings, and so on. Experiencing unique cultural practices is also a way to feel the culture of this country, and the students also gained unforgettable memories of this wonderful event.
If you have thought about traveling to China, working in China or learning Chinese in China, come to join us! Don’t hesitate, leave your unique memory in this gorgeous land. Keats is waiting for you to explore more things in Yunnan, China!
