Current status of Keats as of November 2023 [Studying in China]

We would like to update you on the current situation at KEATS as of November 2023.

As of January 2023, entry into China has been permitted again.

With entry into China reopening on January 8, 2023, we have received many applications to study at KEATS. We have already welcomed many students from various countries. Life in China has now returned to normal, and there are no problems traveling anywhere. Neither masks nor vaccines are required.

Applied students have obtained visas and entered China without any issues. This means that they can now fully enjoy studying and traveling in China, just as they did before the COVID-19 pandemic.

KEATS Chinese Language Courses for the First Half of 2023

As mentioned above, as the largest Chinese language school in China, KEATS has welcomed many students eager to study in China since the first half of 2023.

One of the most popular courses at KEATS is the intensive one-on-one course. Students can choose to study at our main campus in Kunming or combine different locations. In addition to customized lessons tailored to your Chinese language level, you can also add on Chinese culture classes (for an additional fee). For example, if you’re interested in Chinese calligraphy, we offer calligraphy classes. If you want to learn how to cook Chinese food, we also offer cooking classes. Both were popular in the first half of the year.

We also offer a “One-on-One Lessons + China Travel Course,” which combines Chinese language lessons and travel for those who would like to travel to famous tourist destinations in Yunnan Province, such as Dali and Lijiang, after completing our intensive one-on-one courses. After studying Chinese for a few weeks, you can choose a one- or two-week trip. This program eliminates the need to worry about hotels, cars, guides, and other details. Many students choose this program to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery of Dali, Lijiang, Shangri-La, Jianshui, Puzhehei, Yuanyang, and other areas.

If you are a parent, we also offer Chinese language courses for children. The best part about these courses is that parents can participate in all activities. We welcomed many families this year in April and June.

KEATS Activities in the First Half of 2023

During the first half of 2023, KEATS held many wonderful events, including Chinese culture classes, language exchanges with Chinese students, and weekend excursions. These events aimed to enrich students’ Chinese language learning experience and help them integrate into the Chinese environment. Below are some of the free events:

Chinese Culture Classes

In 2023, we held Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting, mahjong, traditional Bai tie-dyeing, lantern making, Yunnan dessert making, and Chinese tea ceremonies.

Karaoke

We organized a karaoke event, which also served as a chance for students to practice their Chinese language skills. It was a huge success. Karaoke is a popular social activity in China.

Enjoying a Traditional Yunnan Opera

KEATS students were invited as special guests by the Yunnan Theater to enjoy a traditional Yunnan opera, an intangible cultural heritage. The students seemed to enjoy the performance. By watching the performance at the theater, the students were able to learn more about Chinese culture.

Saturday Excursion

Kunming is home to countless amazing attractions. Every Saturday, we offer a city excursion within Kunming. After a week of intensive lessons, a day of travel is a refreshing way to refresh.

Dragon Boat Festival

On June 25th, Keats held an exciting and successful event. The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival with many activities. To allow students to experience traditional Chinese festival culture and deepen communication between students and teachers, we held a party for teachers and students.

The teachers wore Hanfu (traditional Hanfu clothing), taught students how to make traditional Chinese sweets, and even painted Peking Opera faces together! Experiencing this unique culture also allowed them to feel the essence of Chinese culture, and the students were sure to gain unforgettable memories from this wonderful event.

If you are thinking about studying Chinese in China, traveling to China, or working in China, please come to Keats. You will be able to create your own memories in this fascinating place.

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

I’ve been at Keats school and Kunming now for one month doing the one-on-one Chinese lessons with two different teachers. I really enjoy it. Both of my teachers are very friendly and patient. They really helped me to improve my Chinese, both of my reading and speaking. I really enjoy studying Chinese in Kunming as well. This city is really beautiful and the weather is nice, the air is clean. It’s one of the best cities in China to study Chinese.

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

It has been notable because I have met a lot of people who I met first time last year like me to come back to Keats this year. The teaching has been fantastic. The teachers carefully prepare each lesson. I think this one-on-one approach is really a great way to rapidly increase your level of Chinese and increase your confidence and fluency with the language.

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

I have been to Keats School to learn Chinese for 4 times now. The reason for coming back to this school is pretty much that the teachers I did work with were very good Chinese teachers. I make it a 5-year plan or even a 10-year plan to come back to this school.  All the teachers have methods of looking at what your skills are. They are aware of at what level you are. I think it is worth for everyone.

Small Group Chinese Class

My first semester that I studied at another school, and the pressure there was pretty high, the classroom hour was long, and the homework was pretty tedious. Since I came to Keats, I found I have a lot more opportunities to speak in the classroom. My classmates all are fluent and love speaking and participating in the class. We have great classroom dynamic.

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

Kunming’s scenery is very beautiful. It is the best place to study Chinese in China. My favorite learning method at Keats School is one-on-one because it is suitable for everyone. My teacher is very good, very caring, and lovely. My life when learning Chinese in Kunming is very good and the weather is very good. The air is very good. It is good for the elderly’s body.

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

In the one-to-one intensive Chinese course, you can choose the learning method you like. The small group Chinese class in China at Keats follows the HSK textbook. Teachers often collect feedback from the students, teachers listen to our requirements and opinions. I felt that my oral level is better than before .

Intensive One-on-One Chinese Classes

Listening and speaking in the classroom every day has improved my communication skills. After three weeks, my new words and sentences became more and more natural and fluent. Now I am used to thinking in Chinese, and I understand better what other people say, to be able to have real conversations with other people.

I think the Chinese learning environment here is great. The teaching methods are also very interactive and fun. What I particularly enjoy here is the fact that my teacher does not stick to the textbook. We spend a lot of time discussing general topics, such as Chinese culture, world news, typical expressions used by local people. We also discuss social and economic topics.
