Harry, from England, came to learn Chinese in China at Keats School for 4 weeks. Harry works in London and has a very busy life. Harry took the Intensive One-on-one Chinese program with 6 hours per day. He liked the arrangement of the lessons and achieved great improvement in his Chinese language skills. Within just 4 weeks, Harry now can communicate with Chinese people without any problems. He told us that he would definitely continue learning Chinese after he went back to London as he now has gained greater interest in the Chinese language and its culture.
Other than the intensive Chinese lessons, Harry got a full schedule for his after-class activities. Harry met many new Chinese friends on the second day after he arrived. His friends invited him to special Chinese restaurants to try tasty Yunnan food. He felt that he fell in love with the city and her people.
Harry’s teachers arranged one outdoor lesson per week. By visiting famous places in Kunming, Harry can put what he had learned in class into practical life, in addition to learning the local culture. Now Harry has visited the Kunming Museum, Flower and Bird Market, Western Hills, Bamboo Temple, and Yuantong Temple. Harry tried the most famous Yunnan food – Cross Bridge Rice Noodles and he liked it a lot. He told us that he planned to visit the Yunnan Museum, but heard that the museum was now being built and will re-open to the public next May. This could be a pity to Harry. However, this can also be a good reason for Harry to come back to Kunming next year because the new museum will be ten times larger than the current one and will be the most worth-visiting museum in Yunnan province.
When Harry learned Chinese at Keats this time, he got invited by his friends to spend the Mid-Autumn Festival in the Chinese families. He got the chance to appreciate the beauty of the moon while having the moon cakes. Harry enjoyed talking with his friends freely in Chinese. Although receiving a lot of praises for his Chinese, Harry thinks that he still needs to continue learning Chinese.
The special Chinese learning experience at Keats in Kunming made Harry have a better understanding of Chinese language and culture. We welcome Harry to come back to Kunming again in the future.
