Mandarin Teaching of Presenter Style

In order to make sure the students can study Chinese and know more about Chinese culture at the lively, attractive and interesting atmosphere, teachers can apply the presenter style Chinese language teaching in the teaching process. That is to say, two teachers are needed to host the classroom teaching to enrich the teaching contents and activate classroom atmosphere through setting up the context, demonstrating shows and exaggerating and so on. In this way, the students will be always in the exciting learning state. The practice has proved that such method is a kind of effective teaching model.

The classroom teaching has been undertaken all things by the teachers. The voice comes from one direction is helpful for students to keep focusing on the teaching points. For the learning of the first language and other subjects, if there are two teachers present in the classroom, the attention of the students will be dispersed because of the different expressions, attitudes and even the dressing styles of different persons. But it is effective when it comes to the learning of the second language.

When the learners begin to learn the second language, the most difficult and boring thing is the beginning phase. Let’s take Chinese language learning as an example. If the foreign students attend to school to study Mandarin, they must begin from Chinese pinyin which is composed of three parts, the initial consonants, the vowels and the tones. And there are many initial consonants are difficult of the foreign learners to articulate correctly and the vowels are also divided into several classifications, which need much time. When adding the four tones, the students often feel it is really difficult to learn.

However, if they do not lay a firm foundation on the stage of learning Chinese pinyin, it will be much more difficult in the following steps. Since all of those language points need to be repeated again and over again, many teachers feel hard and students become tired but still fail to correct the pronunciation. The important means of learning Chinese language is to first learn and then analyze and understand after listening. Since students need to listen more, teachers need to speak more.

To do some changes, the presenter style teaching is a good choice because the sound comes from two different pronunciation systems, which will greatly attract the students’ attention especially for those who just come to China and learn.
