Chinese Teachers’ Emotions and Chinese Teaching Activities

In teaching activities, the main role of teaching is teachers and the key role is students. But teachers play the leading role. For some foreigners who study in China, they attach more importance to the behaviors of teachers. Teachers and students are all main roles in teaching activities. But the subjectivity of the teachers has a huge effect on teaching activities because they play the leading role.

In the situations of students’ low learning enthusiasm and self-consciousness, the emotion of teachers is the most important subjective factors affecting teaching activities except for teachers’ teacher‘s knowledge structure. The emotion is changing with the different uncertain mood. Therefore, everyone can not foresee what kind of motion will appear. Nevertheless, teachers in qualified Mandarin program should try to take control of their emotions during the teaching activities.

Teachers from Chinese school in China may tell you that there are two kinds of people’s emotions. One is the positive emotion and another is the negative emotion. The positive emotion is the emotion plays a positive role in developing things in a particular context, vice versa. So it is obviously that teachers’ positive emotion promotes the teaching activities while the negative one has bad effect on the teaching activities.

Teachers’ positive emotions can make them in a good mood, refreshing their passion and overflow their energy in the class. If they have a positive mood, they can use refined and concise language, vivid metaphors, abundant practical examples and neat teaching contents written on the blackboard to teach the relevant contents. By this way, they can guide students who learn Mandarin in China to concentrate on listening to the teachers, using their minds to think hard to get the answers.

On the contrary, learners who study Chinese in China may realize that the negative emotion will cause a bad teaching effect. The negative motion will greatly damage the teachers’ knowledge explanation. As a result, students can’t understand what the teachers say. If it is out of control, teaching effect will be seriously reduced and teachers will fail to properly organize their teaching activities.

Therefore, if teachers want to organize a perfect teaching lesson, it is necessary to take full of their positive emotions and try their best to control the negative emotions. As we all know the bad consequences of the negative motions, we should pay more attention to avoid them. For those teachers who teach foreigners that learn Chinese in China, they should first know some behaviors expressing negative motions.

During the teaching activities, the negative emotions can be expressed in the following main actions and behaviors. The first one is the low voice and boring explanation. When foreigners learn Chinese language in China notice the teachers are down in spirits and have no energy to explain the contents lively, the teachers are in negative mood.

Secondly, the teachers may be absent-minded and feel hard to concentrate on the teaching activities and then many errors are caused in the process. This will mislead students during the process of learning Mandarin Chinese. What’s more, if you find the teachers are easy to lose their temper and become angry. This behavior will cause bad effect on students’ emotions and the initiative of thinking will be depressed.

After knowing the behaviors of the negative motions, we should know how to avoid them. If teachers can avoid some bad emotions, the students who learn Mandarin in China will become efficient in learning Chinese. Teachers should first keep a regular exercise in the daily life. More importantly, they should keep a usual mind. There is no need to be angry because of the trifles.

What’s more, they can tell themselves at the time of getting up that it is a new day today. It is a kind of beneficial psychological hint. Teaching the foreigners who just begin to learn to speak Chinese needs a lot of patience. So teachers should practice to be patient to explain the contents. When teachers realize there is something wrong with the mood, they should try to adjust their negative moods in time to recover themselves. No bad mood is allowed in the classroom.

The negative moods can happen in any time, but normally speaking, whether in class or out class, teachers can realize the appearance of the negative moods. If they find that, they should do something to control it and do not let it continue.
