The students in the small group Chinese classes have been studying Chinese for 9 weeks for the fall semester 2015. It is obvious that each student has made satisfied progress as he/she expected with the teaching from Keats School. Cory, from the United States, is studying in Mr. Yu’s class this semester. She will share her Mandarin learning experience at Keats School with us.
Keats School was introduced by Cory’s Canadian roommate. Her roommate studied at Keats School last semester. Cory mentioned that she was amazed that her roommate loved Keats School in many ways. The classes are much more flexible and active than a college program. The contexts are much more useful and interesting than a book learning. Her roommate highly recommended her to study at Keats School.

At beginning of this semester, Cory came to Keats School to take a 1-week free trial
small group class to learn Chinese She never expected that some of her negative impressions about Chinese learning were totally changed at the first class. She noticed that studying Chinese was not boring at all. It’s not a teacher’s personal talking show. All students in the classroom had more chances to speak and share their own opinions in Chinese. The relationship between classmates was more like friends. They discussed, practiced and played Chinese games together. She was so excited and said: ‘It’s the first time that I am starting to like studying Chinese and getting interested in Chinese. The most important is that I really enjoy having class in a Keats’s classroom ’.
She also mentioned that Keats School’s teaching methods are very different from the traditional teaching methods. The teacher always creates many new methods to stimulate students’ study interests. Instead of using a useless textbook, her teacher and other teachers will use many creative excises, dialogues, texts and materials everyday. Keats classes are full of happiness and laugh every day. And after several weeks of study, she found that she can use Chinese which she just learned recently very often in the streets or among her Chinese friends and she is happy about the progress and she doesn’t want to miss even a class. She said: ‘I’m very lucky to choose Keats to learn Chinese!’
Keats School is very glad that our student gives us such high comments. We appreciate they chose Keats and we are determined to providing each student with our excellent Chinese teaching and a happy study experience.
