Jag tog den individuella intensivkursen i kinesiska sex timmar om dagen. Lektionerna är väldigt intressanta. Lärarna är omtänksamma och innehållet de lär mig passar min nivå. Mitt namn är Sarah Fish. Jag är 81. Jag kunde väldigt lite kinesiska när jag kom. Hur skulle jag överleva två veckors intensiv kinesiskakurs? Jag måste skratta när jag tänker på det nu. Vilken positiv upplevelse det här har varit! Jag önskar verkligen att vi kunde vara här lite längre. Lärarna är oerhört uppmuntrande, de utvärderar först hur mycket någon kan och börjar sedan därifrån.
Att lyssna och tala i klassrummet varje dag har förbättrat mina kommunikationsförmågor. Efter tre veckor blev mina nya ord och meningar mer och mer naturliga och flytande. Nu är jag van vid att tänka på kinesiska, och jag förstår bättre vad andra säger, för att kunna ha riktiga samtal med andra människor.
Jag har gått på Keats School för att lära mig kinesiska fyra gånger nu. Anledningen till att jag återvände till den här skolan är i stort sett att lärarna jag arbetade med var väldigt bra kinesisklärare. Jag har en 5-årsplan eller till och med en 10-årsplan för att komma tillbaka till den här skolan. Alla lärare har metoder för att se vilka färdigheter man har. De är medvetna om vilken nivå man befinner sig på. Jag tror att det är värt det för alla.
Jag tycker att Keats är en av de bästa språkskolorna jag någonsin har varit på. Min lärare är en så fantastisk person. Hon är så bra på att undervisa. Hon gör lektionerna roliga. Jag har lärt mig mycket ordförråd under min tid här. Jag skulle verkligen rekommendera att komma och lära sig mandarin på Keats School.
Innan jag började på Keats School hade jag inget förtroende för mina kinesiska kunskaper. Jag hade inte tillräckligt med självförtroende för att tala mandarin och prata med kineser. Men efter fyra månaders studier på Keats blir jag mer och mer säker på att tala kinesiska nu. Att studera kinesiska i Kina på Keats School har varit det bästa beslutet jag någonsin tagit. Det finns många spel i klassen, och min lärares undervisningsmetoder är också mycket intressanta. Min erfarenhet på Keats School har förändrat min syn på Kina och det kinesiska folket.
Alla mina klasskamrater stannar tillsammans i ett år och vi har förbättrats så mycket! Lärarna på Keats är alla väldigt fantastiska. De gillar att organisera många aktiviteter för att hjälpa oss att lära oss kinesiska. Jag gillar Keats! Jag gillar Kunming!
