Olen jatko-opiskelija, joka tekee tohtorin tutkintoa Columbian yliopistossa. Se on ollut todella hyvä kokemus ja rakastan todella opettajaani.
Olen viihtynyt täällä todella hyvin. Olen opiskellut paljon opettajani kanssa, joka oli fantastinen. Päätin oppia kiinaa Kunmingissa, koska pidän pienemmistä kaupungeista ja pidän täällä vallitsevasta ilmastosta. Meillä oli neljä tuntia opiskelua päivässä täällä ja rakas opettajani opetti minulle paljon eikä koskaan menettänyt kärsivällisyyttään kanssani. Oli todella upea kokemus olla täällä ja suosittelen Keats-koulua ja opettajia täällä kaikille, jotka haluavat oppia kiinaa Kiinassa.
Minulla oli todella upea kokemus koulussa. Opettajat ovat erittäin ystävällisiä. Luokassani harjoittelemme puhumista, kuuntelemista, lukemista ja kirjoittamista. Pelaamme pelejä ja teemme muita hauskoja aktiviteetteja. Teemme retkiä ympäri kaupunkia. Keatsin henkilökunta on ilmiömäistä. Opettajani on yksi parhaista opettajista, joita minulla on koskaan ollut koulukokemukseni aikana. Hän tulee sisään hymy huulilla joka päivä.
Mielestäni kiinalainen oppimisympäristö täällä on loistava. Opetusmenetelmät ovat myös erittäin vuorovaikutteisia ja hauskoja. Nautin erityisesti siitä, että opettajani ei pyri noudattamaan oppikirjaa. Käytämme paljon aikaa keskustellen yleisistä aiheista, kuten kiinalaisesta kulttuurista, maailman uutisista ja paikallisten ihmisten käyttämistä tyypillisistä ilmaisuista. Keskustelemme myös sosiaalisista ja taloudellisista aiheista.
Ennen Keats Schooliin tuloani minulla ei ollut luottamusta kiinan kielen taitooni. Minulla ei ollut itseluottamusta puhua mandariinikiinaa tai jutella kiinalaisten kanssa. Neljän kuukauden Keats Schoolissa opiskelun jälkeen olen kuitenkin tullut yhä itsevarmemmaksi kiinan kielen puhumisessa. Kiinan opiskelu Kiinassa Keats Schoolissa on ollut paras päätökseni koskaan. Tunneilla on paljon pelejä, ja opettajani opetusmenetelmät ovat myös erittäin mielenkiintoisia. Kokemukseni Keats Schoolissa on muuttanut näkemystäni Kiinasta ja kiinalaisista.
