Olen käynyt Keats Schoolissa opiskelemassa kiinaa nyt neljä kertaa. Syy palata tähän kouluun on pitkälti se, että opettajat, joiden kanssa työskentelin, olivat erittäin hyviä kiinan kielen opettajia. Nautin erityisesti siitä, että opettajani ei pyri noudattamaan oppikirjaa. Käytämme paljon aikaa keskustellen yleisistä aiheista, kuten kiinalaisesta kulttuurista, maailman uutisista ja paikallisten ihmisten käyttämistä tyypillisistä ilmaisuista. Keskustelemme myös sosiaalisista ja taloudellisista aiheista.
Tulen Kunmingiin, koska mielestäni siellä on parempi ympäristö ja olen kuullut, että Keats School on parempi. Pidän pienryhmäkiinan kielen tunneista, koska luokkatoverini opiskelevat ahkerasti ja opettajamme ovat erittäin hyviä. Pidän Keatsin opetusmenetelmästä, koska pidän Keatsin aktiviteeteista. Mielestäni Yunnan on erityisen kaunis Kiinan maakunta.
Koulun parasta antia oli ohjaajien kärsivällisyys ja aika keskittyä perusasioihin, kuten ääntämiseen. Mielestäni on erittäin helppo ohittaa ne ja siirtyä sanastoon. Mutta ääntämisen oppiminen on mielestäni auttanut minua ymmärtämään kieltä paremmin.
