Olen viihtynyt täällä todella hyvin. Olen opiskellut paljon opettajani kanssa, joka oli fantastinen. Keats School pyrki kovasti löytämään oppilailleen todella hyviä opettajia, joiden persoonallisuudet sopivat hyvin yhteen. Nautin todella kiinan kielen opiskelusta Keatsissa ja tulen ehdottomasti takaisin.
Olen ollut Keats Schoolissa ja Kunmingissa nyt kuukauden ajan pitämässä yksityisopetusta kiinaksi kahden eri opettajan kanssa. Nautin siitä todella paljon. Molemmat opettajani ovat erittäin ystävällisiä ja kärsivällisiä. He todella auttoivat minua parantamaan kiinan kielen taitojani, sekä luku- että puhetaitojani. Nautin myös kiinan kielen opiskelusta Kunmingissa. Tämä kaupunki on todella kaunis ja sää on mukava, ilma on puhdas. Se on yksi Kiinan parhaista kaupungeista opiskella kiinaa.
Mielestäni Keats on yksi parhaista kielikouluista, joissa olen koskaan käynyt. Opettajani on aivan mahtava ihminen. Hän on niin hyvä opettamaan. Hän tekee tunneista hauskoja. En voi sanoin kuvailla, kuinka paljon pidin siitä. Opettajissa ja opetusmenetelmässä pidin erityisesti joustavuudesta. Toinen asia, josta pidin opetuksessa, oli klassisen oppikirjaoppimisen ja ulkona olemisen yhdistelmä. Rakastin sitä! Tykkään tutustua muihin oppilaisiin. Minun on sanottava, että se on todella hauskaa. Olen ollut täällä kaksi viikkoa. En tiennyt, millaista se tulisi olemaan, mutta olin enemmän kuin yllättynyt siitä, kuinka mahtavaa se on. Olen jatko-opiskelija, joka tekee tohtorin tutkintoa Columbian yliopistossa. Pystyimme todella keskittymään puhumiseen, erityisesti haastattelutyyliseen puhumiseen, ja pystyimme todella parantamaan kiinan kielen luku- ja kirjoitustaitojani, joten kun palaan Columbiaan, voin osallistua virallisille kiinan kielen kursseille. Se on ollut todella hyvä kokemus ja rakastan todella opettajaani.
Mielestäni kiinalainen oppimisympäristö täällä on loistava. Opetusmenetelmät ovat myös erittäin vuorovaikutteisia ja hauskoja. Nautin erityisesti siitä, että opettajani ei pyri noudattamaan oppikirjaa. Käytämme paljon aikaa keskustellen yleisistä aiheista, kuten kiinalaisesta kulttuurista, maailman uutisista ja paikallisten ihmisten käyttämistä tyypillisistä ilmaisuista. Keskustelemme myös sosiaalisista ja taloudellisista aiheista.
